| Here it is, a page ALL about my beautiful Star Baby! Star has been here at Fire Mountain longer than any of my other cats. She is my third bengal. I can still remember the first time I saw her over at Cedar Ranch, and I can still remember the moment she came out of her shipping crate like it was yesterday. I was sitting on the floor to greet her to her new home, and rather than hiding in the back of the cage, she stormed out first thing when I opened the door and squirmed under my leg and back up on top of my leg, and then ran around me and did the same thing on the other side. She then repeated this action again purring the whole while before she bolted into the living room to find my large mirror wall, and an image of a suspiciously familiar kitten which she reacted to by fully poofing out like a Chinchilla, and rapidly bouncing up and down while quickly moving towards and away from the mirror exactly as the cartoon character Rikki Tiki Tavi. She was moving so fast, her little metabolism seemed more like that of a hummingbird than a cat. I immediately emailed Julie Helm of Cedar Ranch to tell her there had been a horrible mistake, and that instead of a bengal I had received a small furry tornado. =) I often call Star the Michael Jordan of cats. She has been able to get all the way on top of my kitchen cupboards from about 6 months of age. She and some of her kittens can jump up onto 6ft tall objects flat-footed. The very tall box I have for destructive kitty timeout is only a temporary prison for her. When I get out the feather wand Star puts on a flying acrobatics show that is unique to her. Star can outjump every bengal I have ever had FULLY PREGNANT. She's something else. Her kittens do things from an age of about 4 months that the other cats can't follow without crashing and burning. They are like little fairies. Her daughter Tink, who is almost a carbon copy of her would jump between wooden chair backs (~3/4 inches wide) around the table at 4 months. |

| This is Tiny Baby Star (4wks I think) in the first picture I had of her from Julie. At the time Silvers were pretty new, expensive, and most programs I found had waiting lists. Thankfully Julie hadn't posted Star on her website yet, and she was available. So after seeing this picture and some pictures of her daddy before he championed in his first show, I put down a deposit and started the long wait for Star kitty to come home. Here are some pics of her daddy below CH Nairobi MoonlitCongo courtesy of Julie Helm of Cedarranch Bengals. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| And finally, here is Star today pregnant with kittens from Gogees Dazzling Tanga of Thomwren | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Genetic Profile Star is from a Silver X Silver breeding, and is homozygous for silver, meaning she only has silver kittens. She has great type, small round ears, a short leopard tail, and a great head which she has thrown in all of her kittens. I don't believe she carries any marble genes, and should probably only ever have spotted kittens. We'll probably find out in her next breeding. Her mother brought in a new silver line completely seperate from the Splendor and silvergene silver cats, which makes Star a valuable commodity as a genetically diverse homozygous silver breeder. |
